Aim: How do we find a central idea of a literary passge? CCSS.ELA-LITERACY.RL.9-10.2 Determine a theme or central idea of a text and analyze in detail its development over the course of the text, including how it emerges and is shaped and refined by specific details; provide an objective summary of the text.

Aim: How do we find a central idea of a literary passge? Part 3 Text-Analysis Response Your Task: Closely read the text provided on pages 21 and 22 and write a well-developed, text-based response of two to three paragraphs. In your response, identify a central idea in the text and analyze how the author’s use of one writing strategy (literary element or literary technique or rhetorical device) develops this central idea. Use strong and thorough evidence from the text to support your analysis. Do not simply summarize the text.

How Do We Find A Central Idea of a Literary Passage? (revised) The central idea is the theme of a literary piece. It is what the author intends to whisper the reader his important message behind its story. In other words, the author doesn’t tell you his message; you have to make inference after reading the story and ask yourself the following questions. Question: 1.
