JapanFest Description Details Tips Houston, Texas 2017 • Japan Festival Houston, one of the largest in the US with more than 30,000 visitors, celebrates the rich cultural heritage of Japan with traditional and contemporary performances of Japanese music, dance and martial arts, Japanese/Japanese-inspired food, as well as demonstrations and displays of Ikebana flower arrangement, tea ceremony, origami, and bonsai • JETAA Texoma members spend 2 days introducing to booth visitors the details of what the JET Program embodies, along with what necessary qualifications entail to apply to the program and what to expect if selected • Successfully partner with other local, Japanese-adjacent organizations to expand contacts and increase connections • Great use of GiA Funds! • Many opportunities for JETAA to volunteer as leaders in a variety of positions - ask around!
