Wind Energy

What is Wind Energy? Wind energy is a renewable source of energy. Electrical energy is harnessed using wind energy.

One popular method of renewable energy is the wind One popular method of renewable energy is the wind. Windmills are usually built in flat areas. They use the law of conservation of energy to work

The wind turns the propeller of the blade with kinetic energy The wind turns the propeller of the blade with kinetic energy. That kinetic energy is then converted to electrical energy when the propeller rotates the internal shaft which is connected to a generator. The generator is what converts the kinetic energy to electrical energy.

Which is used to provide electricity

Although wind power plants have relatively little impact on the environment compared to fossil fuels power plants. The have been concerns over the noise produces, the visual impacts and the death of birds caused by the windmills.

So windmills doesn’t have THAT much of a bad impact on

Wind mill costs tend to be relatively cheap , but maintenance over time seem to become more costly, and the average life span of a windmill is 20 years with healthy maintenance

Trinidad and Tobago, as well as other Caribbean countries would benefit from the use of wind energy, but there isn’t an abundancy of land to use for the windmills.
