Feasts of Trumpets Yom Teruah. (Lev 23.23-25) 1) Two vital months 2) The comparison 3) The Question 4) Two trumpets 5) Two stages of His 2nd coming 6) Trumpets for all.

I) Two vital months (Lev 23.23-35) Lev 23.23-25 And the LORD spake unto Moses, saying, 24 Speak unto the children of Israel, saying, In the seventh month, in the first day of the month, shall ye have a sabbath, a memorial of blowing of trumpets, an holy convocation. 25 Ye shall do no servile work therein: but ye shall offer an offering made by fire unto the LORD In the seventh month, in the first day of the month The 7th month & 1st day Two months are very vital for Jews, Nisan & Tishri Their religious year starts from Nisan month by celebrating the Passover And their civil year starts from Tishri month by celebrating the feast of trumpets on the 1st day of 7th month That’s why the feast of trumpets is also known as Rosh Hashanah.

II) The comparison (first 4 & last 3 feasts) The seven feasts of Jehovah, can be divided into two category, first 4 feasts and last three feasts N The last 3 feasts are primarily for Jews The feast of Passover As the children of Israel start their new year with the feast of trumpets, similarly God is going to start His dealing with the nation of Israel from this feast of trumpets The feast of unleavened bread The feast of firstfruits God has NOT completely forgotten Israel (Rom 11.25-32) We can learn these three important facts from these last three feasts. The feast of Pentecost/weeks The feast of Trumpets God will gather the children of Israel from . all the parts of the world The day of Atonement God will forgive them and… The feast of Tabernacles God will make them as the head of all nations

Jews are Scattered People Feast of Trumpets God will bring Jews back to Israel Jews are Scattered People i) Majority of the Jews live in foreign countries rather than . their own country. N ii) God has not only blessed Jews in their homeland . as well as in the foreign land also where they live. N iii) Willingly or unwillingly they have to go back to Israel . (Isa 27.12-13, Isa 11.11-12, Mt 24.30-31) Mt 24.30-31 And then shall appear the sign of the Son of man in heaven: and then shall all the tribes of the earth mourn, and they shall see the Son of man coming in the clouds of heaven with power and great glory. 31And he shall send his angels with a great sound of a trumpet, and they shall gather together his elect from the four winds, from one end of heaven to the other N.

Day of Atonement God will forgive them & save them Jews are Sinful People i) They will return in the state of unbelief N ii) They will return as dry bones (Ezkl 37.11-14) and . in dross state (Ezkl 22.18-22). N They will be regathered, and regenerated. Ezkl 37.11-14 Jn 7.37.

Jews are Suffering People Feast of tabernacles God will dwell amongst them Jews are Suffering People i)They have suffered a lot in past (Egypt, Hitler) ii) Even at present they are mistreated by many nations N iii) But during 1000 years this will change . (Zech 8.22-23, 14.16-18, Isa 18.7) They will be regathered, regenerated and rejoiced.

III) The question (N) When Lord Jesus will come to take His Church, will that day be the day of feast of trumpets? Even though Lord Jesus will descend on the clouds with the sound of trumpet (1 Cor 15.51-52, 1 Thes 4.16), this doesn’t mean that he will not come on other days but exactly on the feast of trumpets only 1) God has not given us any particular sign, for the rapture/2nd coming Mk 13.32 But of that day and that hour knoweth no man, no, not the angels which are in heaven, neither the Son, but the Father Mt 25.13 Watch therefore, for ye know neither the day nor the hour wherein the Son of man cometh 2) During the feast of trumpets, many trumpets were blown . (Lev 23.24, Num 29.1) whereas during the 2nd coming of our Lord . there will be the sound of 1 trumpet (1 Cor 15.52, 1 Thes 4.16) 3) During this feast, priests used to blow the trumpets (Num 10.8), . but at the time of rapture, no human will blow the trumpet Out of 365 days Lord can come any time. It may be on 1st January, 25 December, 1 May, any day.

IV) Two trumpets (silver & ram’s horn) Bible speaks about two types of trumpet Pslm 98.6 With trumpets and sound of cornet (Ram’s horn NIV) make a joyful noise before the LORD, the King Num 10.2 Make thee two trumpets of silver; of a whole piece … 1. Trumpets of silver (Num 10.2) 2. Trumpet of Ram’s horn (Josh 6.4) These trumpets were blown on multiple occasions i) To assemble the congregation (Num 10.3,7) ii) To instruct their leaders (Num 10.4) iii) To begin their journey (Num 10.5-6) iv) To go to war (Num 10.9, 31.6, 2 Chr 13.14) v) For worship, joy, feast, etc (Num 10.10, 1Chr 15.28).

IV) Two trumpets 1. Trumpet of silver proclaims about our “salvation” Silver speaks about the price paid by LJC for our salvation It is that gospel proclamation through which God calls sinners unto Himself Those who have believed on this gospel proclamation (after Pentecost), the trumpet will be blown soon for their rapture.

IV) Two trumpets 1. Trumpet of silver proclaims about our “salvation” 2. Trumpet of ram’s horn proclaims about “kingdom” The ram’s horn signifies the children of Israel chosen through Abraham God will establish His kingdom & His throne after rapture For the children of Israel, trumpets will be blown to bring them back in their country.

Trumpets will be blown soon First, the trumpet will blown for church God will gather His church (believers) from all the corners of the earth 1 Thes 4.16 1 Cor 15.52 Then, the trumpets will blown for Israel God will gather His chosen people (Israelites) in their homeland (after rapture) As the Israelites came to their homeland from all the corners of the World when their country was formed (1948), similarly Israelites will return to their homeland Isa27.12-13, Mt 24.30-31.

V) Two stages of Lord’s 2nd advent The Trumpet will blow for the Church as well as for Israel nation According to the Bible, there will be about 7 years gap between . these two stages (great events) 1st stage 2nd stage (after tribulation) He will come for Church (rapture) He will come for Israel (to reveal) He will come for believers He will come with believers He will come to take His bride He will come to sit on the throne He will come in the air He will come on the earth He will come for short time He will come for 1000 years Only believers will see Him Every eye shall see Him.

VI) Trumpets for all OT divides the world into 2 sections, Jews & Gentiles But the NT divides the world into 3 sections, Jews, Gentiles and . church (1 Cor 10.32) There will be the sound of trumpet for the rapture of the Church There will be the sound of trumpets for the regathering of Jews And then there will be sound of trumpets for the war for the rest of the world (Rev 8.2) ***
