Prosocial Game Canvas The prosocial game canvas. Analogous to other successful visual design tools like the business model canvas, the customer journey canvas, or the product field, the prosocial game canvas gives all team members an easy overview of all components of a successful prosocial game, and organizes and presents all information you will need during the design process.

Prosocial Game Canvas Outcomes: The overarching goal of the game, i.e the skills audience has to learn. Resources: What the game needs, the people, places, materials, and technology. Audience: The interests, abilities, and (cultural) backgrounds of target audience. Inspiration: Existing games, scenarios, genres, and mechanics that might fit or inspire.

Prosocial Game Canvas Assessment: The assessment and/or its setup to measure the outcomes. Preparation: Instruction and modeling of the skill. Debriefing: The most important part of learning with any game, immediate reflection. Generalizing: Extending the debriefing to reflect on and draw lessons from the game and relating it to actions in real life.

Prosocial Game Canvas Skill challenge: The central challenge of prosocial skill. Goals: The win states. Actions: What players do to reach their goals. Feedback: How the game tells the players how well they are doing in achieving their goals. Enjoyment: The particular kind of positive emotion or ‘fun’ that your game aims for.

Prosocial Cards (Skillgames) 76 cards in 6 categories, 3 for skills, 2 for preparation, debrief and generalization, and 1 for game mechanics : Skill Cards Skills for Friendship Skills for Feelings Skills for Cooperation Rules of Play (Game Mechanics) Pedagogy Cards Methods for Preparation Methods for Generalisation/Debriefing See also http://skillgames.playgen.com/
