Scenario description
The scenario can be written here, remember to give them a good description so that they can picture the situation taking place. Use dialog quotes if the scenario involves people speaking. This has to be typical of what will happen on the job in real life and add plenty of background to set the story up. Include cues to distract or add useful information.
What do you do? / What should you say? / What should X do?
Links to real on the job resources, like who they can ask for help (this might show a hint or something that the person might say to them / advice).
Job aid – handouts, posters, anything used on the job.
Relevant procedure, you could even take an extract of the procedure to show them as reference point.

3. Scenario #1 – Debrief / Feedback
You can include feedback for both right or wrong options, or a combined scenario debrief slide. The importance of the feedback is for the learner to understand the consequence of their decision and it has to be reflective of what will happen in real life. Feedback is an excellent opportunity to present the module key content and key messages.

Intrinsic Feedback
This type of feedback continues the story through from the scenario. It is usually visual and contains emotion, it doesn’t tell them the exact consequences and it requires learners to draw conclusions of the consequences of their actions. This would generally involve a description of the consequence.
Instructive Feedback
Actual debrief of the situation and what their decisions could cause to happen in the workplace. More telling the learner how it would impact them as opposed to them having to read between the lines of the story continuing (intrinsic).
