Today: Rights, Responsibilities, and Contracts BR- Here is where the bellringer is each day. You don’t need to copy the questions. Just write the date and your answer. Hand them in every friday 9/4/14 Today: Rights, Responsibilities, and Contracts

Let’s do this now.. Think about your rights and your responsibilities in this class. Make a “t” chart and list a few rights that you have on one side and responsibilities on the other.

Vocabulary Journal Over the course of the year you will collect words in your vocabulary journal. This should be kept in your binder and will be checked from time to time. Feel free to adapt the language and use your own words! We will also post the words for your vocabulary journal on our word wall.

Vocabulary Journal #1 Rights- a justified claim or entitlement, or the freedom to do something. Responsibilities- the state, fact, or position of being accountable to somebody for something Contract- a written agreement (though not always written!) between two or more people or groups; allows those who have signed to make sure everyone involved is acting according to the agreement.

Class Contract Using the rights and responsibilities that we discussed create a document that we can all agree to follow. Sign the contract (all of us!) and I will post it in the room. We may need to change (amend) the contract from time to time.
