Literacy Alma now listens to more complex stories, with themes that interest her like bedtime and potty procedures, monsters or kids’ activities. She also listens to two bedtime stories each night. During the day she enjoys “reading” on her own. She knows a lot of books by heart and either asks again to have them read to her, or she completes the words as we read together.

Alma occasionally likes to line objects, but not as much as Hahgoot does it, and not as a relaxation device. She’ll usually hand me some of the items to post them or make a shared tower. I used that interest to teach her to match socks, which is also a start for Numeracy skills.

Dad’s socks were more of a challenge, as they all seem very similar... Alma also knows were everyone’s clothes go in the wardrobes!

Alma made her first puppets and engaged her sister in play

I got new cool scissors for Alma and she is very enthusiastic about cutting with them!

Alma enjoyed making oatmeal dough: You mix flour, water and oatmeal and knead into dough. Its smooth and squishy!

Alma spent a lot of time rolling, pressing, kneading, and cutting the fragrant dough.

It even evolved into pretend play: She “baked” the dough and made lunch for the doll
