Food is Donated Food Bank of the Albemarle maintains relationships with donors in all 15 counties to provide food to hungry Seniors, Veterans, working families and children. These donors include Growers, Manufacturers, Retail Partners, Individuals, Churches, Businesses and Civic Organizations Fresh produce is donated directly to the Food Bank rather than to agencies in each county to ensure freshness and to avoid overwhelming the agencies with the volume that is donated. The produce and other product is then distributed back into all 15 counties.

Staged for distribution Our 20,000 square foot warehouse is where we store and distribute millions of pounds of food to hungry people each year. Our facility is AIB certified (American Institute of Baking).

Distributed to Hunger Relief Partners in Manageable quantities The Food Bank of the Albemarle has multiple hunger relief partners in all 15 counties. Partners agencies include food pantries, soup kitchens, day care centers, after school programs, backpack programs, mobile food pantries, shelters, adult day care centers, supplemental nutrition programs and more.  Every effort is made to reach into all parts of our service area.
