Faith – Fixing Our Eyes on Jesus

Faith – Fixing Our Eyes on Jesus Hebrews 11:13 13 All these people were still living by faith when they died. They did not receive the things promised; they only saw them and welcomed them from a distance, admitting that they were foreigners and strangers on earth.

Faith – Fixing Our Eyes on Jesus Hebrews 11:32-40 32 And what more shall I say? I do not have time to tell about Gideon, Barak, Samson and Jephthah, about David and Samuel and the prophets, 33 who through faith conquered kingdoms, administered justice, and gained what was promised; who shut the mouths of lions,

Faith – Fixing Our Eyes on Jesus Hebrews 11:32-40 34 quenched the fury of the flames, and escaped the edge of the sword; whose weakness was turned to strength; and who became powerful in battle and routed foreign armies. 35Women received back their dead, raised to life again. There were others who were tortured, refusing to be released so that they might gain an even better resurrection.

Faith – Fixing Our Eyes on Jesus Hebrews 11:32-40 36 Some faced jeers and flogging, and even chains and imprisonment. 37 They were put to death by stoning; they were sawed in two; they were killed by the sword. They went about in sheepskins and goatskins, destitute, persecuted and mistreated— 38 the world was not worthy of them. They wandered in deserts and mountains, living in caves and in holes in the ground.

Faith – Fixing Our Eyes on Jesus Hebrews 11:32-40 39 These were all commended for their faith, yet none of them received what had been promised, 40 since God had planned something better for us so that only together with us would they be made perfect.

Faith – Fixing Our Eyes on Jesus Hebrews 11 Faith isn’t running from our circumstances. We run from a relationship We run from a job We run from a problem Normal human response

Faith – Fixing Our Eyes on Jesus Hebrews 11 Faith is about finding God’s way through. If we love Him, we trust Him We take time to stop and seek the Father We are learning to rely upon Him

Faith – Fixing Our Eyes on Jesus Psalm 44 1 We have heard it with our ears, O God; our ancestors have told us what you did in their days, in days long ago.

Faith – Fixing Our Eyes on Jesus Psalm 44 9 But now you have rejected and humbled us; you no longer go out with our armies.

Faith – Fixing Our Eyes on Jesus Psalm 44 17 All this came upon us, though we had not forgotten you; we had not been false to your covenant.

Faith – Fixing Our Eyes on Jesus Psalm 44 23 Awake, Lord! Why do you sleep? Rouse yourself! Do not reject us forever. 24 Why do you hide your face and forget our misery and oppression? 25 We are brought down to the dust; our bodies cling to the ground. 26 Rise up and help us; rescue us because of your unfailing love.

Faith – Fixing Our Eyes on Jesus Hebrews 11:40 40 since God had planned something better for us so that only together with us would they be made perfect.

Faith – Fixing Our Eyes on Jesus Hebrews 12:1-3 1 Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles. And let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us,

Faith – Fixing Our Eyes on Jesus Hebrews 12:1-3 2 fixing our eyes on Jesus, the pioneer and perfecter of faith. For the joy set before him he endured the cross, scorning its shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God. 3 Consider him who endured such opposition from sinners, so that you will not grow weary and lose heart.
