Leptin By Bennett Diano

Leptin by Definition A hormone secreted by fat-storing cells, that regulates how hungry or full we fell and how much energy we have

Dysfunction Possible Obesity Other Metabolic Disorders

Research Leptin in being studied with how it reacts with other hormones in hope of curing the dysfunction it can cause

Leptin and Starvation Leptin levels change more when the amount of food decreases than when the amount increases

When Sleeping In resent studies Leptin levels have shown a slight increase when human are asleep. Which is why you can go to bed a little hungry and wake up fine

Pathway to the Brain Leptin is released by fat cells It is picked up by Leptin Receptors From there the information is sent to the Hypothalmus

To Much To much Leptin can cause the person not to eat and eventually die of starvation without being hungry

Not enough can cause a person to eat themselves into obesity
