HFT 2401 Hospitality Financial Accounting Section 061 Spring 2016 Course Overview

Course Description Hospitality Industry Financial Accounting will provide the basic knowledge of financial accounting systems in a hospitality environment

Course Objectives A basic understanding of accounting principles An understanding of the development of financial accounting systems An understanding of the preparation of accounting transactions, adjusting entries, the balance sheet, the income statement, and accounting ledgers

Course Objectives An understanding of the various forms of business organizations and basic accounting for each Understanding the concepts of cash accounting, receivables and payables accounting, inventory accounting, FF&E accounting and payroll accounting

Topics to be Covered Part I Introduction to Accounting Accounting for Business Transactions Accounting Principles Accounting Adjustments Completing the Accounting Cycle Subsidiary Ledgers and Special Journals
