Assessment Criteria AC2.2 Describe Trial Processes A simple/basic description of trial processes and/or personnel involved. This may be only a list. (1-2) Describes in some detail the stages of the trial process, including the personnel involved. (3-4)

Who are they? What do they do? Why are they there? Inside the Courtroom - Court Personnel Who are they? What do they do? Why are they there? INDIVIDUAL ACTIVITY - Research and make Pyramid document itemising the following roles within the Court in order of rank: The Defendant (The Accused) The Legal Teams: The Prosecution (Crown Prosecution Service) and The Defence (The Barrister acting on behalf of the accused/defendant) The Judge or Magistrate The Clerk to the Court Court Ushers Witnesses – Victim, Eyewitnesses, Character Witnesses and Experts
