Questions

Example

Describe an exciting sport you know You should say: What the sport is; How you know about it; Is it difficult? Explain why you think it is exciting

Example

Question How do you think of extreme sports? Should governments ban dangerous sports for young people? Would you encourage young people to do these sports? What kinds of ball game do Chinese people like to do ? What kinds of sports can people in your country? Are there many TV programs about sports in your country? Do you think these program can help people play sports more often? Why do people play extreme sports? Why can’t government stop people from play dangerous sports? What ’s the difference between professional athletes and amateur athletes?

Example

Describe an important job in your country. You should say: what job it is who has (or, does) this job what training people have (or need) for this job and explain why you think it is important.

Example What job it is I would like to talk about the medical profession, in particular I want to focus on the great work that nurses do in our hospitals and local doctor’s surgeries. Nurses provide medical care and compassion to patients suffering from a range of illnesses. Who has, or does, this job Nurses come from all backgrounds, although I would say that the majority of nurses are female. To become a nurse, you must first go through university, so all nurses are well educated individuals with experience at university.

Example What training people have, or do, in this job To become a nurse, as I have mentioned, a person must first complete three or four years at university. Although I am not certain about the exact process of their degree programme, I am fairly sure that they cover a very wide range of medical conditions, although not in quite as much detail as one would receive if studying to become a doctor. Nurses also complete a great deal of practical education, working closely with patients in nursing homes and volunteering at hospitals. This sort of education prepares them for the rigours of working in a busy hospital.

Example And explain why you think it is important I think the role of a nurse is often overlooked, as people praise the more glamorous doctors and surgeons. Nurses provide a far more personal type of care, as they spend far more time with patients than doctors ever do. Sometimes, patients feel more comfortable talking about their ailments to nurses than they do doctors, due to this close relationship. In addition to this, nurses are better able to notice small changes in a patients’ condition, as they see them very regularly. In conclusion, then, I see the role of a nurse as a crucial component to the overall care of sick people in my country.

Question Is it easy for people to find a job in your country? Is that the same in all parts of your country? Do you think a person should take the first job that's available or continue to look for a job that they will like better? Are there any types of work that your country can't find enough qualified people to do?

Example Is it easy for people to find a job in your country? I think in my country, there is an assumption that finding work is incredibly difficult. We have recently come through a very difficult period of recession, a time in which the economy of the country really suffered. During this period, it was indeed a very challenging prospect to gain employment, many companies were making people redundant and few places were taking on new members of staff. I think now, however, we have come out the other side of this recession, and the rate of unemployment is steadily dropping. Nowadays, it is probably only slightly more difficult to find a job than it was before the recession.
