WHO requested Information Summary All Public Hospitals are now connected to the Information System of the Ministry of Health The percentage of computers in health facilities connected to a broader network is still low The Health Information Systems are yet to be integrated Priority Communicable Disease Surveillance (PCDS), for which data is updated through a web-based software on a weekly basis from 70 terminals throughout the country (64 districts and 6 divisional headquarters). National Surveillance in IEDCR. Mobile Health Service through country-wide call centers We have MIS department in the Ministry of Health We are yet to formulate a comprehensive privacy and confidentiality act for sensitive health data We are currently forming HL7 Bangladesh We have drafted an e-Health Strategy as part of our Digital Bangladesh Strategy paper - To help us understand the ICT infrastructure in your country and how it is being harnessed -- what percentage of computers in health facilities are connected to a broader network? - With respect to linkages between systems, for example, if you have an emergency response system and routine surveillance system, are they in any way integrated? - What is the last big project in your country related to health information systems implementation? - Do you have a health information systems related office in the Ministry of Health in your country? What does this office aim to achieve? And are there corresponding offices at provincial, district and facility levels? - Is there privacy and confidentiality protection for individual data in your country? If so, name one or more systems that implement it. - Do you have a working group that meets across the Ministry of Health, or beyond, for coordination on HIS related issues?  Do you have a national HIS or eHealth strategy? If so, tell us about it, e.g. current time period, responsible unit, is it costed and/or operational and informing new health IT investments, etc.) e-Health & HIS in Bangladesh
