What happened in the Salem witch trials? Salem Witch Trials- series of hearings and prosecutions of people who were accused of witchcraft People had a strong belief that Satan was active on Earth every day. some of the sites of witch craft hysteria during the witch hunts of the late seventeenth century Some people had been accused of witchcraft by tormented young girls as their cause of pain. Elizabeth Parris and Abigail Williams came down with strange aliment, and the doctors couldn’t find anything physically wrong with the two girls. Since the doctor couldn’t find anything wrong, it was decided they were bewitched.

She was accused of witchcraft because she owned taverns, played shuffleboard, dressed provocatively, and was outspoken. Bridget was accused of bewitching five young women. The whole town went against her and within eight days she was executed. -Sarah Good was stereotyped as a stereotypical witch.
