The Fragrance Test

John 8:29-32 God Pleasing 29 And He who sent Me is with Me. The Father has not left Me alone, for I always do those things that please Him.” 30 As He spoke these words, many believed in Him. 31 Then Jesus said to those Jews who believed Him, “If you abide in My word, you are My disciples indeed. 32 And you shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.”

Acts of Devotion – A Sweet Smelling Aroma Philippians 4:18 (NKJV) 18 Indeed I have all and abound. I am full, having received from Epaphroditus the things sent from you, a sweet-smelling aroma, an acceptable sacrifice, well pleasing to God.

Does Heaven even notice my acts of Devotion and Selflessness? Question: Does Heaven even notice my acts of Devotion and Selflessness?

Mary's Fragrant Offering noticed for ALL TIME! Matthew 26:13 (NKJV) 13 Assuredly, I say to you, wherever this gospel is preached in the whole world, what this woman has done will also be told as a memorial to her.

Mary sat at Jesus feet and listened to the WORD 39 And she had a sister called Mary, who also sat at Jesus’ feet and heard His word. 40 But Martha was distracted with much serving, and she approached Him and said, “Lord, do You not care that my sister has left me to serve alone? Therefore tell her to help me.” 41 And Jesus answered and said to her, “Martha, Martha, you are worried and troubled about many things. 42 But one thing is needed, and Mary has chosen that good part, which will not be taken away from her.”

Mary found the Blessing of God At the Feet of Jesus: Mary found the Blessing of God

Losing the Blessing Philippians 2:14–16 (ESV) 14 Do all things without grumbling or disputing, 15 that you may be blameless and innocent, children of God without blemish in the midst of a crooked and twisted generation, among whom you shine as lights in the world, 16 holding fast to the word of life, so that in the day of Christ I may be proud that I did not run in vain or labor in vain.

Blessed to be a Blessing Genesis 12:2 (NKJV) 2 I will make you a great nation; I will bless you And make your name great; And you shall be a blessing.

1. The FRAGRANCE of the WORD Mary found: 1. The FRAGRANCE of the WORD

2. Mary sat at Jesus feet in SORROW 32 Then, when Mary came where Jesus was, and saw Him, she fell down at His feet, saying to Him, “Lord, if You had been here, my brother would not have died.” 33 Therefore, when Jesus saw her weeping, and the Jews who came with her weeping, He groaned in the spirit and was troubled. 34 And He said, “Where have you laid him?” They said to Him, “Lord, come and see.” 35 Jesus wept. 36 Then the Jews said, “See how He loved him!”

Mary brought to Jesus feet her BURDENS

Release your Burdens today Matthew 11:28–30 (NKJV) 28 Come to Me, all you who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. 29 Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. 30 For My yoke is easy and My burden is light.”

Mary found at Jesus Feet: The FRAGRANCE of the WORD The FRAGRANCE of SURRENDER

3. Mary WORSHIPPED at Jesus Feet John 12:1–3 (NKJV) 12 Then, six days before the Passover, Jesus came to Bethany, where Lazarus was who had been dead, whom He had raised from the dead. 2 There they made Him a supper; and Martha served, but Lazarus was one of those who sat at the table with Him. 3 Then Mary took a pound of very costly oil of spikenard, anointed the feet of Jesus, and wiped His feet with her hair. And the house was filled with the fragrance of the oil.

WARNING: our ATTITUDES reveal our HEART John 12:5 (NKJV) 5 “Why was this fragrant oil not sold for three hundred denarii and given to the poor?”

Our Worship EMPOWERS Verse 7 Jesus says, "Leave her alone – she has kept this for My Burial"

What kind of FRAGRANCE comes off our lives when it come to our MONEY?
