3 Work brings Weariness As Jesus and his disciples were on their way, he came to a village where a woman named Martha opened her home to him. She had a sister called Mary, who sat at the Lord's feet listening to what he said. But Martha was distracted by all the preparations that had to be made. She came to him and asked, "Lord, don't you care that my sister has left me to do the work by myself? Tell her to help me!" "Martha, Martha," the Lord answered, "you are worried and upset about many things, but only one thing is needed. Mary has chosen what is better, and it will not be taken away from her." Luke 10:38-42 (NIV) There is no rest day or night for those who worship the beast and his image. Revelation 14:11 (NIV) When we are in the middle of the biggest storms of life, Jesus is with us. 5 Works bring Burdens "Woe to you, teachers of the law and Pharisees, you hypocrites! You give a tenth of your spices--mint, dill and cummin. But you have neglected the more important matters of the law--justice, mercy and faithfulness. You should have practiced the latter, without neglecting the former. Matthew 23:23 (NIV) They tie up heavy loads and put them on men's shoulders, but they themselves are not willing to lift a finger to move them. 7 Jesus says, come to me  "Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.  Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls.  For my yoke is easy and my burden is light." 8 Jesus says, come to me, find your rest…
in Sabbath There remains, then, a Sabbath-rest for the people of God;  for anyone who enters God's rest also rests from his own work, just as God did from his.  Let us, therefore, make every effort to enter that rest, so that no one will fall by following their example of disobedience. Hebrews 4:9-11 (NIV) When we are in the middle of the biggest storms of life, Jesus is with us. And often he shows up in ways we don’t expect. CLICK next slide

In The Word For the word of God is living and active. Sharper than any double-edged sword, it penetrates even to dividing soul and spirit, joints and marrow; it judges the thoughts and attitudes of the heart. Hebrews 4:12 (NIV) When we are in the middle of the biggest storms of life, Jesus is with us. And often he shows up in ways we don’t expect. CLICK next slide

10 Jesus says, come to me, find your rest…
In Worship In The Cross Therefore, since we have a great high priest who has gone through the heavens, Jesus the Son of God, let us hold firmly to the faith we profess.  For we do not have a high priest who is unable to sympathize with our weaknesses, but we have one who has been tempted in every way, just as we are--yet was without sin.  Let us then approach the throne of grace with confidence, so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help us in our time of need. Hebrews 4:14-16 (NIV) When we are in the middle of the biggest storms of life, Jesus is with us. And often he shows up in ways we don’t expect. CLICK next slide
