Short Stories of Realistic Fiction

What is realistic fiction? Realistic fiction is stories that are drawn from the writer's imagination but can also be true to life. Although the characters are made up and the settings are not real, the events could actually happen. Many of these stories focus on universal human problems with a character trying to find a solution to a problem that works. It is important to remember that although the situation of the story is real, it is not based on real life events.

Characteristics of the Genre Examples of real life situations Characters are human beings Entire page is filled with drawings or text Story contains a lot of dialogue, conversations and descriptions. Mostly appear in magazines or articles Many times have a moral to the story
