…..access to information and knowledge across society, assisted by the availability of Information and Communications Technologies (ICTs). (IFLA’s Lyon Declaration, August 2014). 3

Goal 1 – End Poverty in All its Forms Everywhere Providing public access to information and resources that reduce “information poverty” by giving people opportunities to improve their lives, training in new skills needed for education and employment; 4

Goal 4 – Ensuring Inclusive and Equitable Quality Education and Promotion of Lifelong Learning Opportunities for All Having dedicated staff who support early literacy and lifelong learning, providing access to information and research everywhere, and providing inclusive spaces where cost is not a barrier to new knowledge and skills; ; 5

Goal 8 – Promoting Sustained, Inclusive and Sustainable Economic Growth, Full and Productive Employment and Decent Work for All Providing access to information and training in new skills that people need to find, apply for, and succeed in better jobs; ; 6

Programs: Capacity Building Programs for Librarians

Disability Awareness Training Objectives: build the capacity of public librarians and staff to create better library conditions and experience for Persons with Disability (PWD); ensure inclusive library services in libraries.

Establishment of Disability Resource and Development Center (DRDC). Objectives: Build an inclusive library spaces and services. In support to one of the Key Result Areas of the government – Making growth inclusive in order to raise the equality of the Filipino workforce. NLP as central node of DRDC which will be cascaded in all public libraries in the country

Acquisition of Assistive Devices and accessible library materials; Create a space that can be a venue for different activities related to PWD awareness, training and other; To be the prototype DRDC in libraries within the region and eventually cascaded in NLP affiliated public libraries.
