2016 Sunday 9:30am Adults’ Bible Class Series: Kingdom of God Lesson 10 ABOUT THE

Introduction 1 Overall Kingdom of God Timeline 2 Rebellion of Lucifer 3 The Fall of Man 4 Promise of the Kingdom 5 The Kingdom of Israel 6 The coming of the Universal Kingdom of God 7 The Church as the Kingdom of God 8 Which Church is Acceptable to God 9 The Kingdom of God is within you

Key Features of the Kingdom The Kingdom of God in Israel was under the 10 Commandments Colossians 2:14 Blotting out the handwriting of ordinances that was against us, which was contrary to us, and took it out of the way, nailing it to his cross 2 Corinthians 3:6 who also made us sufficient as ministers of a new covenant; not of the letter, but of the spirit: for the letter killeth, but the spirit giveth life. The Kingdom of God in the Church is under the spirit of the new covenant.

1. Hate vs Murder Matthew 5:21-23 Ye have heard that it was said to them of old time, Thou shalt not kill; and whosoever shall kill shall be in danger of the judgment: but I say unto you, that every one who is angry with his brother shall be in danger of the judgment; and whosoever shall say to his brother, Raca, shall be in danger of the council; and whosoever shall say, Thou fool, shall be in danger of the hell of fire.

2. Lust vs Adultery Matthew 5:27-32 - Ye have heard that it was said, Thou shalt not commit adultery: but I say unto you, that every one that looketh on a woman to lust after her hath committed adultery with her already in his heart. It was said also, Whosoever shall put away his wife, let him give her a writing of divorcement: but I say unto you, that every one that putteth away his wife, saving for the cause of fornication, maketh her an adulteress: and whosoever shall marry her when she is put away committeth adultery. 1. Hate vs Murder

3. Integrity vs Oaths Matthew 5:33-37 - Again, ye have heard that it was said to them of old time, Thou shalt not forswear thyself, but shalt perform unto the Lord thine oaths: but I say unto you, swear not at all; neither by the heaven, for it is the throne of God; nor by the earth, for it is the footstool of his feet; nor by Jerusalem, for it is the city of the great King. Neither shalt thou swear by thy head, for thou canst not make one hair white or black. But let your speech be, Yea, yea; Nay, nay: and whatsoever is more than these is of the evil one. 1. Hate vs Murder 2. Lust vs Adultery

4. Generosity vs Revenge Matthew 5:38-41 - Ye have heard that it was said, An eye for an eye, and a tooth for a tooth: but I say unto you, resist not him that is evil: but whosoever smiteth thee on thy right cheek, turn to him the other also. And if any man would go to law with thee, and take away thy coat, let him have thy cloak also. And whosoever shall compel thee to go one mile, go with him two. 1. Hate vs Murder 2. Lust vs Adultery 3. Integrity vs Oaths

5. Love vs Hate Matthew 5:43-48 - Ye have heard that it was said, Thou shalt love thy neighbor, and hate thine enemy: but I say unto you, love your enemies, and pray for them that persecute you; that ye may be sons of your Father who is in heaven: for he maketh his sun to rise on the evil and the good, and sendeth rain on the just and the unjust. For if ye love them that love you, what reward have ye? do not even the publicans the same? And if ye salute your brethren only, what do ye more than others? do not even the Gentiles the same? 1. Hate vs Murder 2. Lust vs Adultery 3. Integrity vs Oaths 4. Generosity vs Revenge

Summary Matthew 5:3-11 Blessed are the poor in spirit: for theirs is the kingdom of heaven. Blessed are they that mourn: for they shall be comforted. Blessed are the meek: for they shall inherit the earth. Blessed are they that hunger and thirst after righteousness: for they shall be filled. Blessed are the merciful: for they shall obtain mercy. Blessed are the pure in heart: for they shall see God. Blessed are the peacemakers: for they shall be called sons of God. Blessed are they that have been persecuted for righteousness' sake: for theirs is the kingdom of heaven. Blessed are ye when men shall reproach you, and persecute you, and say all manner of evil against you falsely, for my sake. 1. Hate vs Murder 2. Lust vs Adultery 3. Integrity vs Oaths 4. Generosity vs Revenge 5. Love vs Hate
