Chain of Command: The flow of authority and responsibility within an organization, military and civilian. From the highest ranking positions to the lowest ranking positions. When solving a problem, start at the lowest level of the chain of command as possible. Let’s look at the chain of command here at Corsicana High School

Our Principal, Shade Boulware

Senior Aerospace Science Instructor (SASI) Lieutenant Colonel Mackey

Aerospace Science Instructor (ASI) Master Sergeant Hardie

Corps commander

Dillon Hestand : Operations Officer

Within each class period, also known as flights, we have the following: Flight Commanders Flight Sergeants Element Leaders

So, if you had a problem within your flight, who would you start with in the chain of command? Hopefully you said element leader.

Why not the flight commander or the corps commander – oh heck, why not the school principal?

Now that we looked at the chain of command at the school level, let’s look at the military chain of command at the national level.

Chairman Joint Chief of Staffs Marine General Joseph Dunford President Barack Obama Commander and Chief Ash Carter Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Secretary of Defense Chairman Joint Chief of Staffs Deborah James General David Goldfein James Cody Chief Master Sergeant of the Air Force Secretary of the Air Force Air Force Chief of Staff
