Places of Interest of London: Westminster Abbey. The presentation is made by VED GALINA ALEXANDROVNA, a teacher of the English language of school #3 of the town of Alexandrov, Vladimir region

Westminster Abbey is situated not far from the Houses of Parliament.

The oldest part of it was built in the 8th century The oldest part of it was built in the 8th century. The construction of the Abbey was finished in 1065. Since that time it is a place for royal coronation.

The Abbey is the burial place for a lot of great people – kings, queens, politicians, writers and artists. Charles Darwin, Sir Isaak Newton and David Livingstone are buried in the Abbey.

In Westminster Abbey there is the grave of the Unknown Warrior In Westminster Abbey there is the grave of the Unknown Warrior. Church services are usually held in the Abbey .
