1 The presentation is made by Shelomentseva Lyudmila Vladimirovna, a teacher of the English language 2013 Places of Interest of London: The Tower of London.

2 The Tower of London is one of the most popular places of interest in London.

3 The Tower is very old. It was built in the 11th century. At first the Tower was the Royal palace and a powerful fortress.

4 Then it was a prison, a zoo and much more. Now the Tower is a museum.

5 The tourists, who visit the Tower, can have tours led by Yeoman Warders. They are people dressed in special historic clothes who guard the place.

6 One of Yeoman Warders is known as Ravenmaster, a man, resposible for the ravens living in the Tower.

7 The legend says that the country will be strong and powerful if ravens live there.

8 The oldest tower is The White Tower.

9 Visitors can see royal armour and other historic objects there.

10 They can see a fabulous dragon, Keeper by name, in one of the exhibitions.

11 Everywhere in the Tower there are sculptures of animals. They help visitors not to forget that long ago there was a zoo on its territory.

12 Today the Tower is best known for its Crown Jewels. People can see a lot of precious exhibits there.

13 The soldiers of Her Majesty guard the place. They are the most popular sight of the Tower.
