Testing Tips Be mindful of distracting noises (closing doors, tapping, constant movement, etc.) Let your teacher know if there is a problem – even if your teacher is the one distracting you. No talking in any format during the entire testing time for the entire school. Drink water Think of your happy place Stretch (quietly, without distracting others) Keep your answer document clean – no highlighter marks, stray pencil marks, erase completely, no rips, no creases Use your test taking skills as you have been taught in class Keep your earplugs. There are NO extras. If you are sick, please ask to see the nurse BEFORE you break the seal. Once you break the seal, you will have to re-test at the next administration. Watch your time. When it’s over, it’s OVER!

Bubbling Put your answer document aside “if” you are bubbling last At the 30 minutes left mark, you should be bubbling. At the 15 minutes left mark, you should be finalizing and checking your bubbling. When you are ready to bubble… Bubble carefully Check your bubbles 2 finger check No highlighters when bubbling Jackie Three passes (explain how this works with the editing/revising) Three types of questions (ones you know, ones you think you know, ones you don’t know) Breaks (relieves you of frustration – write notes to the writing committee as to how you feel when you get frustrated. Keep it school appropriate! Highlighter is for key words/ phrases – NOT coloring Straight edge – An index card that keeps you on the right line and keeps you from being bombarded by words when you are reading. YOU CANNOT WRITE ON THE INDEX CARD Overlay – keeps you focused while reading PLEASE PROTECT YOUR ANSWER DOCUMENT Check and recheck your bubbling. Do the 2 finger test or use the straight edge if necessary to check

After the Test Sleep Read a book or school appropriate magazine. NO electronic devices (NO sharing or trading). NO talking even if everyone if your entire class is done You may still go to the restroom DO NOT write on anything after the test

And MOST Importantly… Do Your Best P 11:55
