THE GREAT GATSBY– ASSESSMENT TASK 1

PAIR TASK – CHAPTER BOOKLET & PRESENTATION In pairs, you will choose a chapter (from 3 – 6) from the novel Working together, you will create a chapter booklet containing: Cover Page Summary of the action in the chapter Exploration of 2 – 3 key concerns / themes from the chapter Discussion of 6 – 9 specific quotations You will present your chapter to the class.

I am looking for… A sophisticated understanding of Fitzgerald’s text Drawing connections between characters and themes Understanding of language and literary devices Justification of argument with reference to specific evidence from the text Complexity of ideas Fluent, expressive use of language
