#2 Fasting for Jesus’ Return Revelation 22:12-21

this much I want you, Lord. #2 Fasting for Jesus’ Return Revelation 22:12-21 1Corinthians 6:12 ‘I have the right to do anything,’ you say – but not everything is beneficial. ‘I have the right to do anything’– but I will not be mastered by anything. What is controlling you this evening? Fasting: this much I want you, Lord.

but he’s sent his Spirit #2 Fasting for Jesus’ Return Revelation 22:12-21 Jesus has gone… Matthew 9:15 but he’s sent his Spirit John 14:16-21 John 16:14 [The Holy Spirit] will glorify me because it is from me that he will receive what he will make known to you.

We’re not meant to be satisfied with here! #2 Fasting for Jesus’ Return Revelation 22:12-21 We’re not meant to be satisfied with here! 2Corinthians 5:8 I would prefer to be away from the body and at home with the Lord. Philippians 1:21-24 I desire to depart and be with Christ, which is better by far 1Peter 1:1 To God’s elect, exiles… 1Peter 2:11 …I urge you, as foreigners and exiles, to abstain from sinful desires… Hebrews 10:32-34 You suffered … joyfully … because you knew that you yourselves had better and lasting possessions. Philippians 3:20 Our citizenship is in heaven. And we eagerly await a Saviour from there, the Lord Jesus Christ. Hebrews 9:28 Christ … will appear a second time, not to bear sin, but to bring salvation to those who are waiting for him. 1Corinthians 1:7 you eagerly wait for our Lord Jesus Christ to be revealed. Titus 2:13 we wait for the blessed hope – the appearing of the glory of our great God and Saviour, Jesus Christ Jude 21 keep yourselves in God’s love as you wait for the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ to bring you to eternal life.

(Revelation 22) Anna (Luke 2:36-38) Fasted and prayed … waiting for the Messiah to be revealed … and God rewarded her But all her waiting and longing was based on OT promises … We have so much more! … Should we long for Jesus to come any less than her?
