(This hope is one of constant longing and earnest desire.) Romans 8:24-25; Hebrews 11:1, 6 (all in ch. 11 had hope for something. They knew (had confidence) they would get it because they had faith. Their faith was a working faith.); “who are kept by the power of God through faith for salvation” – 1 Peter 1:5; 12:1-2; Philippians 3:12-14 (we can’t grow idle)

5 Are you begotten to hope?
Do you have hope? “begotten us again to a living hope” (v. 3) Begotten (NASV – “born again”) How?! John 3:3-5; Galatians 3:26-29 Are you begotten to hope? We are begotten to this hope. “begotten us again to a living hope” (v. 3) Begotten (NASV – “born again”) (Matthew 1 – Abraham begot Isaac, etc.) You have to be begotten by God. You have to be a son of God. How?! John 3:3-5; Galatians 3:26-29 Conclusion Hope is what keeps us going. We have a hope of eternity with God. The only ones that have this hope are those begotten by Him. Do you have hope?
