Medieval Castle Todi

Medieval castle in a panoramic location with magnificent views over Todi and was actually a strategic choice : the tower of the castle was in fact part of a system of towers made from the alert function in the case of dangers for the city. Over the centuries the building lost its function and in the late 90’s was purchased, fully renovated, restored with great attention and transformed into a prestigious and comfortable residence. The castle has been restored and is in excellent condition. Inside are terracotta tiled floors, wooden and terracotta ceilings, stone fireplaces, even in the rooms, and original wooden framing.

The castle was used as a charming home and is spread over several levels, of which the first three are connected with internal elevator. The ground floor is the large living/dining room with fireplace, kitchen and a bathroom for guests

The first floor, reached by internal stairs, with elevator or a separate entrance from the outside, is composed by a large living room divided by a double archway supported by one column. Still on this level but with independent access from the inner courtyard, is a private double bedroom with en-suite bathroom. On the second floor, the sleeping area comprises three bedrooms with private bathrooms and a study/library on two levels from which you can access the tower, with a sitting room and bathroom on the third floor and a further bedroom with balcony on the fourth floor.

The four annexes are only a short distance from the castle and are used as warehouses, garages etc. The property is surrounded by 1.7 hectares of land with an Italian style garden, partly bordered by high stone walls. Within is the classic elements of this garden type: hedges, fountains and pergolas that, thanks to the magnificent view, create an impressive scenic effect. In a private position and facing south-west is a 10m x 5m swimming pool.

Location The location, scenic and not far from important cities of central Italy (Orvieto 32 km, Perugia 50 km, Spoleto 55 km, Roma 138) makes it a great solution either as a permanent residence or as home for the holidays. Todi is just 8 km away, Orvieto 32 km, Perugia 50 km and Spoleto 55 km. The nearest airport is Perugia, 52 km away, while the international airports of Rome Ciampino (155 km) and Rome Fiumicino (173 km) are located approximately 2 hours by car.
