My dear friend, I would like to invite you and your friends to come to my place. You know London is a nice place to visit. It is very beautiful in winter. There are so many places to visit. I know a lot about them and I would like to show you some of them. I have sent you the pictures of these places of interest. So come any time you like. Write me soon. LONDON. PLACES TO VISIT

Do you want to visit London? Let’s begin with its centre. Trafalgar Square is the natural centre of London. Every day a lot of tourists come here to watch the traffic and feed the pigeons.

Trafalgar Square is in the centre of London,… a) isn’t it? b) isn’t there? c) are they?

The Houses of Parliament If you go down Whitehall (a wide street in London) you will come to Parliament Square. On the left you can see a long building with towers. It is the Houses of Parliament.

Big Ben The large clock in one of the towers is Big Ben. Big Ben is the name of the clock tower of the Houses of Parliament. You can hear the sound of Big Ben every hour in London.

Westminster Abbey On the other side of Parliament Square there is Westminster Abbey. It is one of the most famous and beautiful churches in London. A lot of kings and queens, great writers are buried here.

St. Paul’s Cathedral Another great church in London is St. Paul’s Cathedral. It was built in the 17th century. It took Sir Christopher Wren (the famous architect) 35 years to built this church. It is a beautiful building with many columns.

Buckingham Palace The Queen of England lives in Buckingham Palace. It takes people twenty minutes to get from Buckingham Palace to Trafalgar Square.

Oxford Street You can’t leave London without presents. Oxford Street is London’s main shopping centre. People from all over the world shop in Oxford Street.

There are so many other places to see and visit in London, but you can’t do it all during one short trip
