Warm up Coaching Points Organization In a 10 yard square with one player between each cone one ball Ball is passed between the gray players Ball is passed between orange players Now ball is passed to any player Coaching Points Establish a good passing rhythm of 2 touch Orange players move to make a closer angle of support Gray players move to support Coach the movement of the appropriate players Coach is added into the middle of the area Players try to keep the ball away Have 1 player be the goalkeeper and they can use their hands or feet Movement of appropriate players at each side of the coach Timing – have players hold the ball at their feet and invite pressure Timing- Goalkeeper on using their hands coach either roll or put ball at feet and wait based on pressure The player that is opposite to the player on the ball comes into the area Now play all inside the area Reduce the area on success Checking- the player gets out when the ball is played to a player that is next to them This movement needs to be emphasized in the next piece Can the players do things faster C G C G

Establishing a Rhythm Coaching Points Ball Player Organization Area ½ the field Field is divided into 3 zones 2 wide zones and one central Wide zones are 3 yards in from the edge of the penalty area Cones are marked out where the wide players make the central diamonds Players pass the ball around the team shape Rotate players though the wide position Coaching Points Establish and show the 3 diamonds Coach the wide players to make diamonds with the central players Coach players to receive with out of their feet and deliver a quality pass Checking at an angle distance of support – Very important Timing of when to check Open body shape to the field Add in two central cones just outside of each post for the central defender Show how the central player makes the diamond and what side of the box to check to Show the diamond connecting the zones Start the ball in the goalkeepers hands and allow them to hold walk, drop and play Central defender goes on opposite side to the ball Players should move as the ball does Move with shoulders open to the center of the field Coach the midfielder to stay on ball side of the field

Training priority Take apart the end session and work on U9-11- technical components of the session U11/12- Small group tactics – decision making based on pressure Overlaps Combination play Playing in zones U12 plus – technical tactical components U13 plus – Technical functional practices With all practices look to reduce areas on success to increase pressure
