How many apples do you see? Now how many do you see?

This is called a 10 frame. It has room for ten things. How many apples are in this frame? 8 How many boxes are empty? 2

Let’s try another one. How many apples do you see? Let’s put them in a 10 frame. How many apples are in the 10 frame? 4 How many boxes are empty? 6

How many boxes are empty? 4 Do you see a pattern? 6 apples How many boxes are empty? 4 Do you see a pattern?

Now you’re going to play a game with 10 frames. Spin the spinner Now you’re going to play a game with 10 frames. Spin the spinner. Place that number of markers on your 10 frame. Keep going on like this until you reach the apple tree in the center of the board. If you are playing with a partner, the first one to the apple tree is the winner.
