Presentation transcript:

Saying what colour things are.

The colour comes after the thing it’s describing. Rule number 1: The colour comes after the thing it’s describing.

Par exemple: C’est un sac jaune.

Rule number 2: If the thing you’re describing is feminine, add an –e to the end of the colour.

C’est une trousse bleue Par exemple: C’est une trousse bleue

Par exemple: C’est une règle verte.

Par exemple: C’est une gomme noire.

Except: When the colour already ends in an –e. Think of the colours you know that end in –e. Hint (there are four).

Par exemple: C’est une règle jaune.

Par exemple: C’est une gomme rose.

Rule number 3. If you’re describing more than one thing, add an –s to the end of the colour.

Par exemple: J’ai des livres bleus.

Par exemple: J’ai des sacs jaunes.

J’ai des cahiers rouges. Par exemple: J’ai des cahiers rouges.

What do you think happens if you’re describing more than one feminine thing? You add an –e and an –s!

Par exemple: des trousses vertes

If it already ends in an –e, just add the –s! BUT: If it already ends in an –e, just add the –s! Des règles jaunes

Let’s recap those colours!
