CORE VALUES “Core Value # 1 – LOVE”

“Core Value # 2 – EVANGELISM” CORE VALUES “Core Value # 2 – EVANGELISM”

EVANGELISM is Paramount to God “For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him.” John 3:16-17 NIV

EVANGELISM is Paramount to God God sent his Son into the world to save man from sin Jesus came to seek and to save the lost – Luke 19:10; Matt 20:28 This is the most important thing there is to God – Luke 15

EVANGELISM is Paramount to God Jesus commanded his disciples to Go and Evangelize Go into ALL the world . . . – Mark 16:15-16; Matthew 28:18-20 This is at the core of being a Christian!

EVANGELISM should be Natural “As Jesus was getting into the boat, the man who had been demon-possessed begged to go with him. Jesus did now let him, but said, “Go home to your family and tell them how much the Lord has done for you, and how he has had mercy on you.” So the man went away and began to tell in the Decapolis how much Jesus had done for him. And all the people were amazed.” Mark 5:18-20 NIV

EVANGELISM should be Natural Go tell how much the Lord has done for you What has the Lord done for YOU? It should be natural to share what God has done for us!

EVANGELISM should be Natural Evangelism should NOT be a “canned message” Most people don’t really care what “The Bible says . . .” People want to know how Jesus has helped you and if he can help them – Mark 9:14-24

EVANGELISM must be Loving “Don’t have anything to do with foolish and stupid arguments, because you know they produce quarrels. And the Lord’s servant must not quarrel; instead, he must be kind to everyone, able to teach, not resentful. Those who oppose him he must gently instruct, in the hope that God will grant them repentance leading them to a knowledge of the truth, and that they will come to their senses and escape from the trap of the devil, who has taken them captive to do his will.” 2 Timothy 2:23-26 NIV

EVANGELISM must be Loving No one wants to be attacked or manipulated! It’s not about “winning the argument” – 1 Corinthians 2:1-5 It’s about saving people! – Jude 22-23; 1 Corinthians 9:19-23

EVANGELISM must be Loving We must develop a sincere love for the lost Stop viewing people simply from a worldly perspective Start viewing people the way Jesus views people – Matthew 9:35-38

EVANGELISM will Produce Results “This is the meaning of the parable: The seed is the word of God. Those along the path are the ones who hear, and then the devil comes and takes away the word from their hearts, so that they may not believe and be saved. Those on the rock are the ones who receive the word with joy when they hear it, but they have no root. They believe for a while, but in the time of testing they fall away. ” Luke 8:11-13 NIV

EVANGELISM will Produce Results “The seed that feel among the thorns stands for those who hear, but as they go on their way they are choked by life’s worries, riches, and pleasures, and they do not mature. But the seed on good soil stands for those who with a noble and good heart, who hear the word, retain it, and by persevering produce a crop.” Luke 8:14-15 NIV

EVANGELISM will Produce Results Some will no doubt reject the Gospel Everyone responds differently – Luke 8:11-15 Most will not be willing to persevere

EVANGELISM will Produce Results But we must keep searching until we find that one! Keep looking for opportunities, keep praying, keep persevering! – Luke 15:1-32 And when that one is found, all of Heaven rejoices! – Luke 15:7, 10, 24, 32
