LRC is a comprehensive database that provides users with a broad spectrum of information on thousands of writers and their works across literary disciplines and timeframes. In this tutorial, we will look at how to conduct a search from the Basic Search screen, as well as the various browsing options available in LRC.

We’ll begin by conducting a search in LRC from the Basic Search screen We’ll begin by conducting a search in LRC from the Basic Search screen. Enter your search term(s) in the Find field, select the desired radio button (keyword, author, title), and then click the Search button.

You can also browse LRC content in other ways You can also browse LRC content in other ways. The Browse box allows you to browse the most studied works and authors, as well as full-text classics. Let’s begin with Most Studied Authors.

You can browse the categories alphabetically or type your search term(s) in the Browse for field and click the Browse button.

On the Detailed Record screen, you can view all of the citation information for the article. Click a Full Text link to read the article. You can also Print, E-mail, Save, Cite, or Export an article by clicking the corresponding icons.

LRC also includes the ability to browse the most studied works in the database. Click Most Studied Works in the Browse box on the home screen. From the Most Studied Works screen, you can limit your search by clicking on the category tabs above the Find field. You can browse the categories alphabetically or type your search term(s) in the Browse for field and click the Browse button.

In the Reference Shelf area, you can gather information from a variety of helpful sources. There are direct links to an Encyclopedia of Literature, Dictionary, Literary Glossary, and Curriculum Standards. You can also gather citation tips via Citation Help and use the Research Guide to understand the full scope of conducting research and writing a research paper.

The Book Highlight carousel features reference books from the Critical Insights series that are rotated regularly. The Content Spotlight, Featured Work, and Featured Author areas are constantly reviewed to highlight the most relevant literary works, people, and events.

LRC also offers a robust, searchable image collection LRC also offers a robust, searchable image collection. Hover your cursor over More in the top toolbar, then select Images.

The Literary Image Collection search screen displays The Literary Image Collection search screen displays. Enter your search term in the Find field. Under Limit your results, you can narrow your results by Image Type, such as black and white photograph, color photograph, or illustration. Once you have made your selections, click Search.
