Living in the Fullness of life in the Word of God Ioana McGreavy Sunday 26th Feb 2016

Promise – Jesus has made to us John 10:10: The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full. John 7:38:  Whoever believes in me, as Scripture has said, rivers of living water will flow from within them.

Choice – we make Psalm 119:30-32: I have chosen the way of faithfulness;     I have set my heart on your laws.  I hold fast to your statutes, Lord;     do not let me be put to shame. I run in the path of your commands,     for you have broadened my understanding.

The Word of God – alive and active Hebrews 4:12-13 For the word of God is alive and active. Sharper than any double-edged sword, it penetrates even to dividing soul and spirit, joints and marrow; it judges the thoughts and attitudes of the heart. Nothing in all creation is hidden from God’s sight. Everything is uncovered and laid bare before the eyes of him to whom we must give account.

The Word of God – alive and active Psalm 119 v.99 Oh, how I love your law!     I meditate on it all day long; v. 105 Your word is a lamp for my feet,     a light on my path. ; started to be so real for me.

Stay Open! Hebrews 4:8b: Today, if you hear his voice do not harden your hearts’ Hebrews 4:11a.: Let us, therefore, make every effort to enter that rest.

Stay Open! Matthew 11: 28-29 (NIV) says this: Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. 29 Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls.

Stay Open! Matthew 11: 28-30 (the Message) “Are you tired? Worn out? Burned out on religion? Come to me. Get away with me and you’ll recover your life. I’ll show you how to take a real rest. Walk with me and work with me— watch how I do it. Learn the unforced rhythms of grace. I won’t lay anything heavy or ill-fitting on you. Keep company with me and you’ll learn to live freely and lightly.”

Living in the fullness of life in the Word of God 1.He has made us a promise of giving us life to the full. 2.Let’s make the choice to set our hearts on meditating and living by his Word. 3.His Word is alive and active today. 4.Stay open!
