More Non-Fiction writings: The Opposite of Fate: A Book of Musings (2003). The Kitchen God's Wife (1991), The Hundred Secret Senses (1995) and Saving Fish From Drowning (2005).

Influences on writing style Amy Tan and her mothers relationship always had its up’s and downs, This influenced Amy’s writing because many of her stories were lyrically written tales of emotional conflict between Chinese-American Mothers and Daughters

Personal Details Was always worried about her looks because she was a young Chinese girl in an American school At age 8 she was reading a book a day She always felt too smart and didn’t want to stand out She continued to get good grades in math which made her parents push her even more to become a doctor Her Father and brother died from brain tumors in the 1960’s
