What is a sentence? 1 A set of words that is complete within itself 2 Contains a subject AND a predicate Subject = person or thing that is being discussed, described, or dealt with 3 Predicate = the part of the sentence containing a verb and stating something about the subject 4

What is a sentence fragment? A phrase written as a sentence, but lacking a subject or verb.
