László Horváth UÓ-JNFI-IAM http://users.nik.uni-obuda.hu/lhorvath/ Tartalom Contents Important initial notices Form features and their groups for solid model Parameters of form features and their relationships Generation of dress-up features for conditioning Model definition for solid body using sequence of shape modification form features - Exercise CS 4.1 László Horváth UÓ-JNFI-IAM http://users.nik.uni-obuda.hu/lhorvath/

Important initial notices Generic model is defined which is capable for self modification along contextual chains in the context of outside control parameters. During model definition, seeing and thinking in information structure is inevitable. Shape modeling is only one of the examples for the application of the feature principle. Current advanced modeling applies this principle at representation of all of the engineering objects We solve laboratory task in contextual industrial modeling system using a very restricted choice of functions. Do not use unnecessary modeling function because modeling system handles it a context. László Horváth UÓ-JNFI-IAM http://users.nik.uni-obuda.hu/lhorvath/

Form feature Application feature: Guide Attributes: width length height surface roughness, etc. Form feature: Protrusion Representation of form feature: Solid body boundary representation KEMR – kill edge make ring (closed chain of edges)! Definition of tabulated solid form feature on place Opening of face and placing new closed chain of edges. The modified shape Euler operator László Horváth UÓ-JNFI-IAM http://users.nik.uni-obuda.hu/lhorvath/

Groups of form features for solid model 1. Defined by shape, volume adding and subtracting Cube, cylinder, sphere, cone and torus. 2. Sketch-Based Features, volume adding and subtracting Tabulated (extruded), rotational, pyramid, tube, swept, multi-sections, and rib. 3. Boolean operations: add, remove, and intersect bodies Joining two bodies into a single new body, 4. Surface based features. Individually created surface modifies solid shape. 5. Dress-up features for conditioning Fillet, chamfer, draft, shell, thread, and tap. László Horváth UÓ-JNFI-IAM http://users.nik.uni-obuda.hu/lhorvath/

Generation of dress-up features for conditioning Fillet results new surface(s). Arch section is constraint Generation of solid shell after removing topological face(s) between boundary and its ofset(s). Fixed Radius Variable Radius Coordinated Radius Definition of neutral edge for draft form feature E n1 p p E n F E n d F d pl E n2 László Horváth UÓ-JNFI-IAM http://users.nik.uni-obuda.hu/lhorvath/
