ROYAL HISTORY The 22nd of November, two days after Franco's death, as the dictator had anticipated, and after swearing the fundamental principles of the fascist National Movement, Juan Carlos was proclaimed king. After Franco succeeded as head of state, was one of the actors in the Spanish transition from Franco to a constitutional monarchy.

FAMILY TREE

Juan Carlos I Juan Carlos I de Borbón was born in Roma, Italia, 5th of January, 1938. He’s the king of Spain. Was proclaimed 22th of November, 1975. He is the rightful heir of the historic dynasty of Borbón and giving the head of state.

He does a number of functions, that are more or less set and assessed by the Constitution: - Sanction and promulgate the Law. - Summon and dissolve the Parliament and call elections under the terms provided in the Constitution. - Make a referendum in cases provided for in the Constitution. - Propose to the Congress candidate for the chairmanship of the Government, and appoint it. - Issue the decrees approved by the Cabinet.

Sofia Sofia of Greece was born in Athenas, Greece on 2nd of November, 1938. She is the Queen of Spain. Was proclaimed 22nd of November, 1975.

Felipe Felipe was born in Madrid, Spain, on 30 of January, 1968. He is the prince of Asturias. He will be proclaimed king of Spain when Juan Carlos I will die.
