Agri-Tech Strategy Launched 22 July 2013 Aims to improve the translation of research into practical application for agriculture and related industries in UK and overseas £160M government investment over 5yrs: Agri-tech Catalyst (£70m) Centres for Agricultural Innovation (£90m)   Headline £160M. Catalyst - for translational research: £60M plus £10M from DFID where relevant to international development  TSB launched first call in October. Centres £90M for ‘a small number’ of centres, inc up to £10M for a ‘Centre for agricultural informatics and metrics of sustainability’.  Plans for establishing the centres are under development; the centres are expected to build on existing facilities, in public and private sectors.

Agri-Tech Catalyst Agri-Tech Catalyst £70m investment to support agricultural innovations 120 projects funded to date across 5 funding rounds Grant funding to support industry-relevant collaborative projects that tackle challenges in agriculture Department for International Development are contributing £10m to meet developing country challenges in agriculture through collaboration with UK and eligible international partners OFFICIAL

Agri-Tech Centres 4 Centres opened Agrimetrics - Big Data Crop Health and Protection (CHAP) CIELivestock - Livestock nutrition, health and genetics Agri-EPI - Engineering Precision All are open access platforms to be used by anyone Deliver Applied Research to solve industry problems Will work together as a family of Centres All have matched industry funding Dissemination of research is a key role OFFICIAL
