WARM UP: List some ways that YOU would clean out a dirty water source? People in the U.S. buy more than half a billion gallons of bottled water every WEEK. That's a lot of water, a lot of plastic bottles, and a big part of our everyday lives. http://www.karmatube.org/videos.php?id=1492

River and Streams: River- is natural flowing water, usually freshwater, flowing towards an another river, lake, bay, or ocean. Source- start of the river or stream Upstream- water close to the source Mouth- end of the river Downstream- water close to the mouth Small amounts of running water: tributary, stream, creek, rill

Rivers move a great deal of material Rivers move a great deal of material. The faster the water moves, the larger material that can be carried down river.

Bill Nye: Rivers & Streams Complete the worksheet

Above water/Below water Drawing Divide your paper in half and DRAW what you would view BELOW the water and ABOVE the water! Include: 5 biotic parts and 5 abiotic parts Use color and creativity LABEL all the parts! Turn in to “IN BOX”

Fun in Rivers and Lakes Brainstorm a list of all the cool things/ activities that you can do in rivers and lakes. Goal: Get the longest list in class! Be creative (school appropriate)

What resources are needed to get water out of the ground. http://www.karmatube.org/videos.php?id=359 Don’t forget to complete your HOMEWORK!
