St. Peter Worship at Key to Life Our Ascended Lord reigns! St. Peter Worship at Key to Life Saturday, May 27th

Welcome to St. Peter! Christ is ascended! He is ascended indeed! This joyful salutation to celebrate Jesus’ ascension into heaven may sound strange, but Ascension Day is worth celebrating! The official day the Christian Church observes this festival is 40 days after Easter, which falls on May 25th this calendar year. However, at St. Peter, we will observe this great festival in worship this weekend. Every time we say the words of the Apostles’ or Nicene Creed, we confess that Jesus “ascended into heaven.” Do we understand, however, the importance of this phrase? Do we appreciate the significance of Jesus going up into heaven that Thursday forty days after His resurrection? Don’t let Ascension Day be merely a forgotten festival. Celebrate your Lord’s ascension! Celebrate because at His ascension, Jesus is fulfilling part of His work of salvation for you as He goes to prepare a place for you!

Welcome to St. Peter! There are friendship registers at the end of each row. Please take a moment to give us your information so we have a record of your time with us today.

For Our Guests If you have questions, let us try to help. Speak with an usher, greeter, or the person next to you. If you’d like to learn more about St. Peter and it’s ministry, please talk to a pastor or member after the service.

Prayer before Worship O Ascended Lord, bless us through your Word of grace. We ask forgiveness for our sins and plead your mercy. It is your love that will bring us home to heaven where we will sit with you in perfect peace and glory in the mansions you have prepared for us. Thank you for those wonderful promises. Amen.

Please be courteous and silence all pagers and cell phones. Thank you

Our Communion Practice In the Sacrament of Holy Communion, Jesus gives us his true body and blood. We express unity with our Savior and those who share our faith and stand on the teachings of God’s Word. Therefore, we invite to our altar those who are members of our church or the WELS. Visitors and guests who wish to commune are asked to speak to a pastor before the service begins.

Graduates’ Recognition We want to recognize our St. Peter members, youth and adults, who are graduating from area high schools, colleges, or tech schools. Parents of graduates: Deadline for submitting your graduates information is Tuesday, May 30. Sunday morning, June 4th, by 10:15AM to process into church.

Planned Giving Committee (PGC) Scholarships To apply, pick up an application form from the Scrip table or from the church office. You need a letter of reference from either a pastor or the school principal. Completed forms must be returned to the church office in the envelopes provided by JULY 1.
