Spokane’s 100 Day Challenge

Rapid Results Institute and A Way Home Washington are sponsoring this project in our state. 3 communities were selected to participate in this round: Seattle / King County Pierce County Spokane County 100 Day Challenge It all begins and ends in 100 days. We are currently on day ???? Of this challenge. Began on April 20, 2017 and ends on July 29, 2017

Spokane’s Goal In 100 Days, we will house 100 youth. At least 50% of these youth will be systems involved. Youth with the highest barriers to housing will be targeted for service. 10 of the 100 youth will be minors. A team of 20 individuals were invited to be a part of the leadership team to put this goal into action. They represent a variety of people advocating to end youth homelessness – housing programs, employment services, juvenile court, schools, and youth

What are we talking about? Our goal focuses on youth and young adults ages 16-24 who are staying in Spokane County.

Our Team Focus Areas Coordinated Entry Team Housing Team Services Team Coordinated Entry Team Communications and Data Team This isn’t just about housing youth, but about creating system change that will have a lasting impact for youth in our community! Housing – looking at host homes, SHA vouchers, and other creative options to house YYA Services – developing a system to provide person-centered services to assit YYA through this project and beyond Coordinated Entry – assess YYA in a meaningful way to link to appropriate services and supports (assessment tools, processes, and locations) Communications and Data – Develop and execute media information about project. Engage the community to support with resources. Develop a meaningful way to track and communicate data

We need your help to connect youth to this project! Link them to use by asking them to complete an assessment to begin services that will lead to housing: SNAP – 212 South Wall Street Thursdays from 1-4:30 are designated for youth ages 18 to 24 and emancipated minors Crosswalk – 525 West Second Avenue Monday – Friday from 10 – 4 call 838-6596 and ask for Eileen or Selena to schedule a time Cup of Cool Water – 1106 West Second Avenue Drop in Fridays from 1 – 4 pm YouthReach – can come to the youth Call 822-8020 to coordinate #100youth100days We need your help to connect youth to this project!

30 How are we doing so far? As of May 25th • 12 minors were reunified with their families; • 10 young adults were rapidly re-housed; • 5 young adults were placed in transitional housing; and • 3 young adults received services that prevented them from losing their current housing We want to thank Volunteers of America, SNAP, YFA Connections, The Salvation Army, Catholic Charities of Spokane, Transitions, and Goodwill Industries for their tremendous work in housing these young people. 30
