The Story of Two Prosperous Entrepreneurs Alexandra Nikolova 10 C class

GAME CHANGING At some point of our lives we all get bored of working for someone’s requirements and conforming to everyone at the workplace. Of course we start thinking of a life with the job of our dreams and what we should have done years ago – to set up an own business, just like my parents did five months ago.

So here’s how the story begins My parents have run the company for five months but the backstory is a lot longer than that. Everything started one day in August last year when my mom came up with the idea of setting up a gym at the center of the town. Why exactly a gym? Sport takes such a big part of my dad’s life that now he’s a qualified fitness trainer that lots of people prefer to work with. My parents are really independent and want to have their own enterprise without depending on someone else.

The business plan was the first thing they had to create To find a suitable place, appropriate for the bigger part of the customers To spend as little money as possible for the repair and the design To take a loan so as to buy the needed facilities and manage money To spread the news about the innovation through the social media and leaflets To develop the place according to the needs of the customers

TROUGH THE DIFFICULTIES So they started searching for the perfect place for the gym. This took them a really long time because almost nothing was close enough to their expectations and vision of the place. They kept searching till an old pub caught their eyes. It was almost impossible to hire the place because all the owners of the apartments on the upper floors had to agree.

Which skills are needed at the beginning? Of course this took a few months but my parents were really devoted to their plan, followed it closely and strictly, full of ambition and patience. They have all the skills of a good entrepreneur- creative thinking (the design of the gym), risk taking (they didn’t know how the things were going to work out), the ability to relieve stress etc. All these were wanted so as to finally get what they wanted and to start their company “SVETLYO GYM”.

My dad on the right with a famous fitness trainer who is selling us sports additives goods.

Without kindness nothing is possible Now they work with other companies for protein goods and sports facilities and try their best to have good relations with the people because that’s one of the most important parts of being a good entrepreneur. Now more and more clients sign up at the sports center because they are fascinated by its design and atmosphere. Loyality, honesty and professional attitude are the traits they admire the most because no business can be made without trust.

[Loyal customers who are enjoying their training]

What’s more about the repairing of the place My parents did it on their own without the help of any professional workers because one of the traits of my family is to achieve a lot with a minimal amount of money. They put mind and soul to create it and the results were amazing.

[Helping my mom to paint the walls]

That’s how a business should be done We tried to make everything perfect so customers can appreciate it and opt for it among the other small businesses. I even made the logo of the gym which is now everywhere in the sports center. For more attraction I photoshopped a picture of Dwayne the Rock Johnson and other celebrities with our logo on their chests which is a bit funny but who doesn’t want some fun?

Future Plans In my opinion, the most important part of being a good entrepreneur is to take risks and hope for the best and do all you have to do so all your efforts, pains and money are not in vain. Now the family business goes on really well and my mom has another idea of establishing something like an unusual café as we saw in Romania or something that does not exist in our town because being creative and open-minded always leads to success.

An upcoming entrepreneur should know that everything is rough in the business world and the battle will never end.
