The Structure of a Cell

? 1 Definitions of Cells

A small meeting where evangelism, consolidation, edification, and commissioning take place

The newcomer is the center of attention.

The cell is a bridge between the people and the church.

AVANTAGE OF HOLDING A CELL FOR ONLY “1 HOUR” You learn to take maximum advantage of your time. 2 The cell member can maintain their normal activities, without having their daily schedule get out of balance. 3 The person becomes aware of the simplicity of the time frame. 4 The people are cared for, and prioritized more.

NEVER Allow an unauthorized person to lead the cell. Loose control over the meeting. Go beyond the one hour time. Get into an argument.

What Kind of Cell you Don’t Want? Cells that starts late. Cell meeting is loosing their excitement. Cells are Passionless. It becomes mechanical. People are non-responsive and boring during the Word. Old style cell group w/ old style leaders are in charge of cell. The next generation is not being release and empowered.

5. Cell location are generally in a poor (not conducive) condition 5. Cell location are generally in a poor (not conducive) condition. Excellence is missing in the cell. 6. There was little laughter and fun in the cell. Leaders are overly religious and lack personality. 7. Weird people and weird experience were allowed during the cell. Cell ceased to reach and ceased to be relevant to the lost. 8. Very little vision is communicated in the cell. A famine of visionary cell leaders and God’s people are dying for lack of it. 9. Cells are not actually reaching the lost.

Sample format of Cell Meeting Welcome 10 minutes Worship Works 20 minutes Word

Sample format of Cell Meeting I. Welcome ( 10 minutes) Eating Fellowship – with siomai and Sago What is your favorite pet, Why? II. Word ( 20 minutes) Review of “Four Wonderful Opportunities” Facilitation Method Each has his/her own copy of Pre-Encounter material

Sample Format of Cell Meeting Have you ever experienced the regret of allowing a great opportunity to pass you by? What does it mean to have a true encounter with God? (see Revelation 3:20). What are the paths mankind has chosen that have separated him from God? What gift do we receive from God when we have a personal encounter with Him? (see Ephesians 2:8). What you are going to do if you encountered God?

Sample Format of Cell Meeting CONCLUSION To have a true encounter with God is to know that: God prepared redemption for man, but man took the wrong road and separated himself from God. Only at the Cross will you be able to experience benefits of Jesus’ sacrifice and begin to walk in the freedom He purchased for you. True repentance with faith in Christ is the door to salvation. You can receive forgiveness from all of your past sins. Sample Format of Cell Meeting

Sample format of Cell Meeting Works – (20 minutes) Discuss the harvest of souls in your cell Discuss developing friendships with non-Christians and pray together for each of them. Pray for the list of your Prayer of 3 Invite for non-christian oikos (circle of influence) Pray for one another.

Lead the Cell Meeting Cell groups work because they are more than just meetings – they provide a relational environment in the ministry and naturally operates, and where people experience the presence of God. The key to a successful meeting is not structure, but LIFE. (Acts 2:42, 45, 46-47) Welcome – “You to me” (10 minutes) 1 Cor. 11:33-34 Begin with fellowship and food – help people relax and feel comfortable. Welcome new visitors. Worship – “Us to God” (10 minutes) Eph. 5:19-20 The presence of God must be felt in the group through worship and praise. Two to three songs that edify and exalt the Lord should be appropriate. Make sure everyone knows the songs or has a song sheet.

Word – “God to us” (20 minutes) Col. 3:16 The leader must be prepared to teach and share The Word of God must be shared under the anointing of the Holy Spirit. The group members should be given the opportunity to participate. The impartation of truth should encourage and give life to the group. Work – “God through us” (20 minutes) acts 1:8 We want our members to have their needs met, and we also want them to be empowered to extend the King- dom of God outside the cell meeting. During the works part of the meeting, we strive to keep balance between ministering to our group and focusing on the Great Commission to reach the lost with the Gospel.

IN-Works – ministry to the group members IN-Works – ministry to the group members. Get the cell members to minister to each other and to encourage one another. OUT-Works – focus on outreach-the Prayer for 3 and the vision for outreach. Good Cell Group Dynamics: All members share equally in the meeting. Anyone can share. 2. The interaction in the group should be kept in line with what Christ is doing in our midst, and we need to refrain from storytelling that is not relevant to the subject being discussed. Matters shared in the cell group are to be kept in strict confidence. We should be consistently reaching out to our family, neighbors, and friends.
