To equip believers to fulfill the Great Commission by New Covenant discipleship so that they know who they are, what they possess, and what they are called to do by being in Christ Jesus.

5. Discipleship through Grace and Faith Based Teaching
Expository Teaching – Book by Book
Grace and Faith based/Rightly divided
Verse by Verse teaching in the Epistles
Chapter by Chapter in the gospels
Book by Book in the Old Testament- Revealing Christ in each book and key life lessons

6. Why Expository Teaching?
2Ti 3:16 All Scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness,
All scripture is profitable and needed for every Christian to mature in the Lord
Avoids becoming unbalanced by over emphasis on certain doctrines to the neglect of other doctrines.
Keeps the balance between the revelation of privileged positional truths in Christ and the practical responsibility to express those truths in our everyday life.

7. Discipleship Through Fellowship
Connect Groups
Once a week members will meet in connect groups to fellowship, go over a short recap of the previous Sunday’s message given at River Rock Church and explore discussion questions based on that week’s sermon.
Ministry work groups within the church
Class discipleship- marriage, parenting, finances, etc.
One on one discipleship

8. Discipleship through Breaking of Bread
Communion
Communion served every Sunday during the worship portion of the service.
Church Meals
Once a month we will have a church pot luck lunch after church. church will provide the meat and drinks. The congregation will provide the side dishes and desserts.

9. Discipleship through Prayers
Spiritual Set Up Team
Prayer team will meet 45 minutes before service to pray for the upcoming service.
Prayer times at the church.
Contemporary worship- worship is a form of prayer
We will begin the service with one or two praise songs and then one or two announcements and then the teaching of the Word will commence.
After the message from the Word we will have our worship service to invite people to encounter God based upon the Word they received from God.
Knowledge of God is the springboard to knowing God.
The Spirit flows on the bedrock of the Word. River Rock!

10. Flow of Service Service time 10:00-11:30 AM Sundays
10 minute Praise- Gathering time
45 minutes teaching
35 minute worship/altar time. Congregation is released if they don’t want to come to altar- They go quietly.
Of course the order of the service will be subject to the leading of the Holy Spirit.
Goal is to have service last 1 ½ hours.

11. Reason for worship after ministry of the Word
The Spirit confirms the Word
The Spirit flows upon and out of the rock of the Word.
Worship will be based upon the revelation of the Word received.
The knowledge of God [teaching of the Word] leads to knowing God [heart to heart connection with God]
Many times people just get in God’s presence and are brought out to hear a message about God. How about doing it the other way around?

12. River Rock Outreach The Hand of Jesus
The Thumb- The Lost- The thumb touches all the other fingers. Focus on winning the lost through relationship evangelism, missions and through the other four fingers.
The point finger- Prisoners
The big finger- The Poor
The ring finger- Widows and Orphans
The pinkie- The Sick
