TEPP Mission To ensure that federal, state, tribal, and local responders have access to the plans, training, and technical assistance necessary to safely, efficiently, and effectively respond to transportation accidents involving DOE-owned radioactive materials. To accomplish this mission, a suite of tools have been developed to aid the response jurisdictions in their readiness activities.

FY 2017 National Training Activities Training sessions and headcount completed in FY 2017 by Regional Government Group Western – 8 classes by DOE and 1 by state instructors with 103 students attending Midwest – 2 class by DOE and 1 by state instructors with 55 students attending Northeast – 7 classes by DOE and 2 by state instructors with 172 students attending 7 CMERRTTs; 2 TMERRTTs Southern – 32 classes by DOE and 14 by state instructors with 653 students attending

Training and Exercise Activities FY2017 Remaining Training and Exercise Activities Based on available funding, the following training sessions are scheduled in the Northeast 6/14 – CMERRTT Norristown, PA 6/21 – CMERRTT Pittsburgh, PA 7/15 – MERRTT, New Castle, PA 8/12 – MERRTT/CMERRTT, Beaver County, PA 8/16 – CMERRTT, Harrisburg, PA

Training and Exercise Activities FY2017 Remaining Training and Exercise Activities Based on available funding, the following Radiation Specialist sessions are schedule: June 12-16 in Columbus, OH July 10-14 in Indianapolis, IN August 7-12 in Salt Lake City, UT September 25-29 in Springfield, IL

FY2017 Training Program Revisions MERRTT stakeholder review and comment process completed January 2017 MERRTT editing completed March 2017 DVD production completed May 2017 Released to meeting attendees today. Emails will be sent to all stakeholder organizations next week announcing several different methods to obtain a copy of the 2017 MERRTT.

TEPP Improvement Projects Agency Cooperation TEPP continues to work with the National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) on Standards 472 and 473 for Competence of Responders to Hazardous Materials/Weapons of Mass Destruction Incidents. Next issue date 2018
