Find a peer-reviewed article in a sociology journal Moninder Lalli Librarian for Sociology / Anthropology Email: moninder_lalli@sfu.ca

Steps Identify relevant database(s) where sociology journals are indexed Choose database(s) Before searching in the database “Brainstorm” about your research topic Identify “key concepts” Create a “search strategy” using “keywords” that describe your topic Try the search Identify useful articles by examining the “titles” and “abstracts” Use “limits” (such as “scholarly” or “peer-reviewed”, “subject” or “date of publication” Download or email the article(s) If full-text of article is not available in the database, try “where can I get this” link to find a copy. If the Library does not own have access to the journal, try “obtain article from another library” Figure out how to “cite” the article(s) using a citation style (APA, MLA, Chicago, etc.)
