The Olympic Games are an international sports festival that began in the ancient Greece. The original Greek games took place every forth year for several hundred years.
The original Olympics included competitions in music, oratory and theatre performances. And there are only one athletic competition -a footrace of about 183 meters, or the length of the stadium. Only men were allowed to compete or watch the games.
In 394AD the ancient Olympic Games were officially ended In 394AD the ancient Olympic Games were officially ended. But Pierre de Coubertin, a young French nobleman, had an idea to bring the Olympic Games back to life.
First modern Olympic Game were in Athens in 1896 and the second were in France in 1900.
The following Olympic Games will be in Sochi in 2014.
